Additive and non-additive genetic effects for fruit traits of ornamental pepper

نویسندگان

چکیده

ABSTRACT Pepper plants can be used as ornamental ones due to the contrasting traits of plants, flowers, and especially fruits. This variability exploited in genetic improvement programs aiming at identifying superior genotypes obtaining hybrids. work aimed select parental hybrid individuals through diallel analysis for fruit Capsicum annuum. Seven pepper were crossed, eleven fruit-related quantitative evaluated. The data subjected using Griffing’s Method 1 (fixed model). There was a predominance additive effects on plants. Genotypes UFPB77.3 UFPB390 are indicated parents traits. Hybrids x UFPB099, UFPB77.3, UFPB001, UFPB134 present potential production hybrids generation segregating populations peppers.

Mapping QTL with additive effects and additive x additive epistatic interactions for plant architecture in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

In bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), crop height is an important determinant of agronomic performance. To map QTLs with additive effects and additive×additive epistatic interactions, 148 recombinant inbred lines and their parents, (‘YecoraRojo’ and Iranian landrace (No. #49)) were evaluated under normal and water deficit conditions. The experiments were carried out on research farms of Mahaba...

Non-additive and additive genetic effects on extraversion in 3314 Dutch adolescent twins and their parents.

The influence of non-additive genetic influences on personality traits has been increasingly reported in adult populations. Less is known, however, with respect to younger samples. In this study, we examine additive and non-additive genetic contributions to the personality trait of extraversion in 1,689 Dutch twin pairs, 1,505 mothers and 1,637 fathers of the twins. The twins were on average 15...

Livestock Production Estimated Additive and Non - additive Breed Effects and Genetic Parameters for Ultrasound Scanned Traits of a Multi - breed Beef Population in Tropical Australia

Direct additive, dominance and genetic parameters for ultrasound scan traits of a multi-breed population involving European, British, Sanga and Brahman breed types were estimated. A generalized ridge regression technique was used to eliminate high associations among some of the genetic effects in the model. Clear breed type effects were observed for all scanned traits. European breeds had negat...

Genetic variation and prediction of additive and nonadditive genetic effects for six carcass traits in an Angus-Brahman multibreed herd.

Estimates of covariances and sire expected progeny differences of additive and nonadditive genetic effects for six carcass traits were obtained using records from 486 straightbred and crossbred steers from 121 sires born between 1989 and 1995 in the Angus-Brahman multibreed herd of the University of Florida. Steers were slaughtered at a similar carcass composition end point. Covariances were es...

Congruence of Additive and Non-Additive Effects on Gene Expression Estimated from Pedigree and SNP Data

There is increasing evidence that heritable variation in gene expression underlies genetic variation in susceptibility to disease. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the similarity between relatives for transcript variation is warranted--in particular, dissection of phenotypic variation into additive and non-additive genetic factors and shared environmental effects. We conducted a gene...
